Carroll County Fire and Rescue Station No. 16 is a 11,500 SF facility that is located in and serves the northern part of Carroll County, Georgia. The facility received a Station Style and Design Award for Shared Facilities from the National Fire Chiefs Magazine.
The design intent for the station was to provide a large Apparatus space with separate Sleeping and Living Quarters that would have room for growth for years to come. The facility needed to be multifunctional for the County as well. The station includes a central Apparatus Room with a Sleeping Quarters wing on the right side and a Living Quarters wing on the left side. The Apparatus Room has four bays that are deep enough for a full-length ladder truck as well as several other fire and emergency vehicles. The Sleeping Quarters wing has standard size bunk rooms and an Officer’s Bunk as well as shower facilities. The Living wing has a Day Room, Dining Room, Kitchen and Restrooms. Also, in the Living wing is a Training Room/ Voting Precinct and a small Sheriff’s precinct office.
