Hood & Walker Clinic located in Durham, NC. The project was developed in collaboration with the Durham Downtown Design District. The design concept was intended to foster historic preservation through the use of materials, forms and scale, contextual to historic Durham. The Design District also encouraged articulated facades with details and appropriate scale to enhance pedestrian movement. Traditional interpretations of façade components such as cornices, recessed entry, canopy and awnings were integrated into the design while locating off-street parking to the rear of the building enabled the facade to develop an inviting street level presence.
